Xinyao Xiao is an assistant professor in comparative literature at Chongqing University, China. Her research focuses on the reception of classical, especially Roman, rhetoric in early modern Europe and early-twentieth-century China. She has published in journals such as Philological Quarterly and Classical Receptions Journal. She is now completing a book manuscript entitled From Roman Orator to Renaissance Courtier: Afterlives of the Ciceronian Orator in Renaissance Court Societies as well as a Chinese verse translation of and a commentary on Ovid’s Ars amatoria.
